T. Nagar, a prime shopping hub in the city of Chennai, is frequented by a number of shoppers. The proposed pedestrian plaza aims to ease pedestrian movement and reduce vehicular conflict. Two trial runs of the plaza have been organised. The first trial run took place on the 20th November, 2016 (Sunday), from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The second trial run was conducted for a longer duration from 8 am to 5 pm on a Saturday, the 25th February, 2017, to study the effect on traffic better.
